FAQs
What is THCA? Does THCA get you high?
THCA stands for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. It's a compound that is a precursor to good old THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound also found in cannabis.
THCA is not intoxicating (non-psychoactive) itself, but when heated through a process like vaping, it converts into THC, which does have intoxicating effects.
What is THCP? Does THCP Get You High?
THCP, or tetrahydrocannabiphorol, is a cannabinoid that was first identified in 2020. It's structurally similar to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis, but THCP is believed to be significantly more potent.
Some research suggests that THCP may bind more strongly to cannabinoid receptors in the body compared to THC, potentially leading to more pronounced effects.
THCA vs THC
THCA and THC come from the same hemp plant but have different effects. THCA is not intoxicating and THC is intoxicating.
But THCA concentrate will provide a high once it is burned, cooked or vaped.
As the cannabis plant undergoes exposure to light and heat, THCA converts into tetrahydrocannabinol, which is THC's predecessor. Because of this, THCA is extracted from flash frozen raw cannabis plants.
THCP vs THC
Tetrahydrocannabiphoral (THCP) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid (along with THC and CBD) in cannabis plants. Research has shown THCP may also have 33 times the potency of Delta 9 THC and marijuana!
