Body Butter vs Lotion
They key difference a skin lotion and a body butter is that a butter is made mostly from oils and contains no water.
A skin lotion is a mixture of water, wax, and oils.
A skin lotion is lighter and “waxier” than a body butter which is which is a soft solid.
A butter has more of an “oily” feel which is what you want to treat severely dry skin. It takes a little longer to work and absorb into the skin than a lotion but the moisturizing benefits are worth the extra work.
My Flaky Skin Goat Milk Eczema Lotion is designed for daily use and skin maintenance. My Winter Itch Eczema Body Butter benefits people with severely dry skin treatment. This could be dry cracked hands, dry patches and cracks behind the elbows and knees.
Suggested Use
Winter Itch Eczema Butter is best for dry skin and eczema. Our body butter has a slightly more “oily” feel than a traditional moisturizing lotion, which is what you want.
Our butter can be applied to dry skin, but we also suggest you try it after a shower or bath.
Get some body butter between your hands and rub it in your palms to warm up the oils.
Try patting down with a towel after a shower and apply the body butter liberally. Rub and work into the skin thoroughly. Allow a 5 minutes for absorption. An oil based body butter takes a little more time than a skin lotion to work into the skin. But the added moisturizing qualities are worth it.
The eczema butter traps the moisture and helps maintain the skin’s natural barrier.
It’s also a good idea to not take long or hot showers. Hot water and bar soap detergents strip the skin’s oil and waxes.
Our butters also make a wonderful massage oil substitute. They soften upon contact with the natural heat of the hands and body.

I have extremely dry skin on my body and eczema on my hands. The butter does not irritate my skin at all and soaks in the moisture. Keeps my skin soft without the feeling of too much oil. Will buy again once I finish mine.

Hi I bought some for my son. And he loves it. Soothes his skin and we got no scent which he likes. It’s not slick or oily. Would recommend. And will buy again.
